MENTAL PERFORMANCE & THE PERFORMANCE EDGE

Mental fitness requires repetitions. We train the ability to regulate attention, emotion, cognition, and behavior under competitive conditions.

The Performance Loop

PREPARE → PERFORM → RECOVER → REFLECT → ADAPT → REPEAT

The Next-Play Skill

The most important play is often the one after the mistake. We train a structured 6-step recovery sequence:

  1. NOTICE: Recognize the emotional reaction.
  2. RESET: Use a practiced physiological cue.
  3. EXTRACT: Take the smallest useful tactical information.
  4. RELEASE: Stop replaying what cannot be changed.
  5. REORIENT: Identify the next immediate task.
  6. ATTACK: Return fully to competition.

Grounded Confidence

Outcome-dependent confidence is fragile ("I played well, so I'm confident"). Durable confidence is built on evidence:

  • I prepared and practiced.
  • I have done difficult things before.
  • I know how to recover after mistakes.
  • I can tolerate uncertainty.
